Shorty's Diner sponsors Keppel Island Kings
Falklands Xtreme Sports is proud to announce that Shorty's Diner is to sponsor our new Junior team the Keppel Island Kings. Due to the increased amount of children registering for the 2019 season we have had to increase our teams. We can't thank Marlene and Richard Short enough for the kind donation of £484 that will help us purchase the shirts from our supplier LAGA Sports. We can't wait to see the new shirt being worn by our junior players and I am sure they will love the design :)
Hot Lotto Donations help purchase new Cooker for Liberty Lodge
Chairman and Co-Founder of Falklands Xtreme Sports went along to check out the new cooker/oven purchased for the Liberty Lodge from the donations provided by the Hot Lotto. We are extremely proud to be providing donations to the Falklands Veteran Foundation (FVF) Liberty Lodge and its great to know that the funds are helping to make the necessary improvements to the lodge. I am pretty sure Alison Dodd will be cooking up a storm for all the veterans and visitors to the lodge in the near future.
ISBHF International Development Committee
First Skype meeting of the International Development Committee today with Wayne Chow (Asia/Hong Kong), Christoph Curchod (Europe/Switzerland), Mimoun Mrini (Africa/Morocco), Colin Gennoe (Global/Korea) and Marcus Morrison (South America/Falkland Islands). This is the start of something special for the Falkland Islands and a proud moment for us to be included as a member of an ISBHF Development Committee. For a small developing nation in the world of ball hockey who have only become ISBHF members 3 years ago just shows how far we have come in such a small time.
The Meeting discussed the following:
-Opening / Welcoming address to IDC Members
-Individual Introductions / Regional Representation
-Cross feedback from members
-Target: non-traditional fledgling nations
-OCCP (Online Coaching Certification Program)
-WC Stick Drive
We have made some new friends and will be working closely with the development committee on the South American AA tournament. Work is going on in the background and we have some areas we are also looking to develop and once we have the details we will let our members know.
Multi-Sports Facility being Proposed
Check out the following images for the proposed new multi-sports facility that is looking to be developed on the old rugby pitch site in the Falkland Islands. We have discussed this further on our blog post "A New Beginning for Sport". Exciting times ahead for sport in the Falkland Islands.
Our little hero Harry is delighted with his custom Captain America shirt designed by our shirt suppliers LAGA Sports. Harry is currently in America receiving medical treatment and is on the road to recovery. We are so pleased to hear that Harry is on the mend and felt the little chap deserved his very own custom LAGA Sports ball hockey shirt with the design as Captain America is favourite super hero. The smile from Harry was worth every effort to make this happen for him. Enjoy the shirt little man and all the ice hockey you are getting to watch and look forward to seeing you back in the Falkland Islands. #helpforharry #smileforharry
ISBHF SOUTH AMERICAN AA TOURNAMENT
Falklands Xtreme Sports has recently undertaken a visit to Punta Arenas, Chile to introduce the sport of ball hockey. This is the first step in providing the very first AA tournament in South America provided by the ISBHF. The Falkland Islands are leading the programme and working hard to make this happen. Check out the lastest report on its developments that have been sent to the ISBHF Board of Directors
Falkland Islands Representation on the ISBHF Marketing Committee
The latest ISBHF Sub-Committee information has been released and we are proud to notify our members and followers that the Falkland Islands have been included in the ISBHF Marketing Committee. This is excellent news and an opportunity for the Falkland Islands to help write articles and promotions for the ISBHF and update all members on the progress of the sport in the South Atlantic. This is the first step in promoting the sport to South America and increasing memberships. The Falkland Islands will be leading the way in introducing new South American members to the ISBHF.
